PILATES FOR DANCERS / SPORTS
"A good stance and posture reflect a proper state of mind." - Morihei Ueshiba
The Pilates Method originated in New York, around the corner from the New York Ballet School, where dancers used to flock to Joseph Pilates' studio to take part in exercises that helped them recover from their dance related injuries, improve core strength, and better performance. These same benefits can be gained by dancers and sportspeople alike who participate in Pilates today.

Practicing Pilates can help to redress muscles imbalances that can come from repetitive actions as often seen in sports and is renowned for improving core strength - a huge benefit for dancers and sportspeople alike.

The Posture Practice offers 1-2-1 and group Mat Pilates sessions for dance schools, individual dancers and sports teams, up to a maximum of 10 people per session. This allows for all participants to be observed and taught proper technique, which is the key to unlocking the vast array of benefits of the practice.
